First Trimester of Pregnancy

The first trimester of pregnancy are critical moments in the life of the little creature to come. From one cell, every organ will be formed and implemented. Life takes shape and the baby begins to appear.

All the moments in the first trimester of pregnancy are important. In the first three months, essential changes occur.

The Encounter

First trimester of pregnancy, there is the first second where the sperm meets the egg. The competition was tough, millions of competitors were competing! But one of them has had more luck and fertilized the egg. The genetic heritage of the new being is now sealed. The adventure can begin.

The Small Egg Start is Growing Fast.

Initially, a single cell. It is far from 1000 billions of cells that make up the adult human body. Yet all are from that original cell. This will start by dividing in two, four, eight.. The fertilized egg reaches the stage called morula, a sphere of 8 to 16 cells. Then he still divides to reach blastocyst stage and called gastrula. It is at this point that the egg is going to curl up in his little nest, the wall of the uterus.

Everything is Organized

First Trimester of PregnancyFor these cell divisions, it will form a cavity within the egg, with only a small bump on one side. A portion of the outer shell will form the placenta, the small “bump” will give the embryo, and the cavity will fill the famous amniotic fluid. The cells begin to specialize into several groups, which will lead to the formation of organs. We speak of sheets to designate groups of cells that will act together. Thus, the outer layer that forms, will evolve and later give the skin, hair, and entire nervous system. The inner leaflet will give him everything, digestive tract, and respiratory system.

In the second month, all organs will form themselves. They say it is organogenesis. After the lungs, hands, intestine, it is the brain that appears. The skeleton as it begins to form, the muscles appear. All in an embryo that is 3 cm! The third month is where the embryo becomes a fetus so to speak. The face begins to be recognizable, the mouth is well drawn and eyes are visible. The vocal cords are formed, but they will not be useful before the first cry of birth. The child’s sex is visible.

The little one even begins to take its first moves, but you cannot even feel them. At the end of the 3rd month, everything is in place. It remains for him to continue on this path and take in size and weight to birth. But that’s another story. The third month is also one of the first ultrasound! Baby will finally reveal to his parents. This first review will mainly enable us to date exactly, few days away from the date of conception. It also ensures that everything is in place. Sometimes you can see the sex of the child. unless you do not want to see it of course!
